There was a time when I started to look beyond the obvious
and notice the edges of things.
Painting to me is like life,
and experience is gained through observation.
The game becomes about how things are
juxtaposed with one another.
It's about an angel bound and tied in knots,
or an inner city with a sacred sunrise.
It's about persimmons, or vases, or people,
and how the sides of each influence with shadow,
or with luminosity.
It's about the way things touch,
but don't really.
